About Resto 213

Looking for an exceptional dining experience? Look no further. Resto 213 is a 65 seat, licensed dining room staffed by Loyalist College culinary students.

As an integral part of developing tomorrow’s industry professionals, Resto 213 acts as a platform for students to put their new practical skills and theoretical knowledge to the test. They do so in a fully operational kitchen, serving real food, to real customers.

As part of this work-integrated learning environment, first-year students are mentored by second-year station leaders. In this supervisory role, second-year students consult with the chef instructor to organize daily production. During their time in Resto 213, all students gain experience working a number of professional restaurant roles, both in front and back of house. This includes rotations on the hot line, garde manger and bakeshop. Students will have the opportunity to execute a variety of service styles, ranging from take away, buffet, à la carte and table d’hôte. Working as a team students navigate the kitchen and learn what it takes to be ready for service.
